Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in various construction tasks including demolition, material handling, site cleanup, and providing support to skilled tradesmen. This role requires physical strength, reliability, and the ability to follow instructions effectively. There is potential for learning and growth within our company for motivated individuals.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in constructing building frameworks, including walls, floors, and door frames, under the direction of skilled tradesmen.
Support Lead Carpenters and Carpenters as needed, helping with tasks such as measuring, cutting, and assembling materials.
Load and unload construction materials from trucks and delivery vehicles, ensuring safe handling and storage.
Assemble and disassemble temporary structures, such as scaffolding, according to instructions provided by supervisors.
Follow directions from supervisors and skilled tradesmen, completing tasks efficiently and accurately.
Be open to on-the-job training to learn new skills and techniques as required.
Perform site clean-up activities to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Ability to perform physical labor and strenuous tasks, including lifting objects weighing 50+ pounds.
- Punctual and reliable, with a strong work ethic and commitment to completing tasks on time.
- Own and utilize basic carpentry tools required for the job.
- Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team, following instructions and communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
Working Conditions
- Environment – Varied work environments including construction sites, commercial buildings, and indoor/outdoor settings.
- Hours – Full-time, may include overtime and weekend work depending on project deadlines and requirements.
- Physical Demands – Requires physical strength, stamina, and agility to perform tasks such as lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, and working in awkward positions.
- Hazards – Exposure to hazards such as sharp tools, power machinery, heights, and heavy equipment. Adherence to safety protocols is essential.
